  • Art Vistas​​ – A parent-run program that brings art education into our classrooms. All lessons and projects are taught and guided by parent volunteers. Art Vista chairs also run the school program- ordering supplies, preparing supplies for projects, picking up the prints from the Art Vistas office, putting on the Art Show at the end of the school year, and supporting classroom docents.   • Birthday Book Club – Assist our Librarian in ordering, labeling, and organizing the birthday book program’s payments and books. Read more about it HERE.
  • Book Fair​​ – A fundraiser benefiting the Guadalupe Library. GHSC sets up a bookstore in the library to promote reading by selling books. Volunteers help at the registers and run of the book fair. Please sign up if you are interested. Read more about it HERE.
  • Ceramics – Each grade level has two clay projects per year (4 sessions in total)- one in the fall and one in the spring. Volunteers will guide students to mold clay, fire the projects in the kiln, and glaze the projects. Read more about it HERE: ​https://ghsc.net/ceramics/
  • Chef’s Night Out ​​- We need a parent to coordinate with local restaurants to host a chef night out fundraiser. Read more about it HERE.
  • Corporate Matching ​​- Many companies will match donations. It is a simple process and can double any donation. Read more about it HERE.
  • Corporate Sponsorships​​ – ​Sponsorship chair duties include maintaining current sponsor relationships while soliciting new perspective sponsorships.​ Read more about it HERE.
  • Donations​​ Solicit donations by filling out online applications, from businesses in person, and/or maintain the donations database. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/fundraising/
  • eFundraising​​ – Encourage parent participation with passive fundraising (online or free programs) like eScrip, Amazon Smile, Minted, Shutterfly & Box Tops.   • Family Dance​​ – Organize and plan this yearly event to build community and provide a fun opportunity for families to spend time together. The chair will coordinate the event and find volunteers to help before, during, and after. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/dance/
  • Garden Club – Help maintain our garden and help run educational programs. Work with the teachers and students to sow, plant, and grow a garden to be proud of.
  • HospitalityThis team of parents is in charge of special events for the Guadalupe Staff, namely Teacher Appreciation Lunch, Welcome Back to School Lunch, and themed treat days.
  • Ice Cream Social – At the beginning of the school year, the Guadalupe community gathers to celebrate a new year and get to know each other better. Volunteers organize and run this fun event. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/ice-cream-social/
  • Lost & Found – The role of this individual is to help parents and students retrieve lost items before they go to donation. Your task includes writing up a quarterly blurb and email it to our Communications Chair to ask parents to retrieve their lost items. Items that remain after each quarter are donated.  The Chair works with local donation services and volunteers to have all items donated. This role helps ensure that items aren’t just piling up at the school and, most importantly, are donated to support those in need.
  • Olympic Day – Help bring the spirit of the Olympic Games to Guadalupe! Beginning with opening ceremonies, Olympic Day encourages all students to participate in friendly sporting events. Volunteers coordinate the setup of games, verify instructions, organize stations, and solicit volunteers to run stations on the day of the event.
  • Project Cornerstone​​ – Volunteers read to students six times throughout the year.  These stories facilitate positive self-esteem, problem-solving techniques, and inclusion.   • Room Parent​​ – Each class has at least one Room Parent, sometimes a team of two or four. Room Parents help organize special celebrations in the classroom, volunteer for in-class activities like Art Vistas, Ceramics, student centers (lower grades), and other activities.   • Spirit Store ​​- Responsible for maintaining an online store and available advertising merchandise through school publications. No inventory will be kept so that all orders will be filled directly online. Read more about it HERE: ​https://apparelnow.com/guadalupe-elementary-school-apparel
  • Spring Carnival ​​- A fun community event in the spring full of games, food, and fun activities. Committee members will help plan and coordinate the vendors and recruit and manage volunteers for the event. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/carnival/
  • Walkathon​​ -For the biggest fundraiser of the year, students collect donations to help fund all of our enrichment programs, community events, and countless school/student needs throughout the year. Students celebrate their fundraising efforts with a school-wide Walkathon Event. Volunteers will decorate, help run activity stations, take photos, mark student laps, and create a fun and spirited atmosphere. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/walkathon/
  • Winterfest– This cozy event celebrates reading and Guadalupe’s community. Teachers will read to families and facilitate fun activities.
