  • Art Vistas​​ – Art Vistas is a parent-run program that gets art education into our school. All lessons and projects are taught and guided by parent volunteers. Parent volunteers also run the school program, ordering supplies, preparing supplies for projects, picking up the prints from the Art Vistas office, putting on the Art Show at the end of the school year, and supporting classroom docents.   • Birthday Books – Assist our Librarian, Mrs. Mettler, in the Media Center ordering, labeling, and organizing the birthday book program’s payments and books. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/birthday-book-club/
  • Ceramics – Each grade level has two clay projects per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Volunteers will help students mold clay, fire the projects in the kiln, and glaze the projects. Read more about it HERE: ​https://ghsc.net/ceramics/
  • Corporate Matching ​​- Many companies will match donations. It is a simple process and can double any donation. Read more about it HERE: ​https://ghsc.net/company-matching/
  • Corporate Sponsorships​​ – ​Sponsorship chair duties include maintaining current sponsor relationships, while soliciting new perspective sponsorships.​Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/become-a-sponsor/
  • Donations​​ Solicit of donations by filling out online applications; solicit donations from businesses in person; maintain the donations database. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/fundraising/
  • eFundraising​​ – Encourage parent participation with passive fundraising (online or free programs) like eScrip, Amazon Smile, Minted, Shutterfly & Box Tops.   • Family Dance​​ – Organize and plan an event to build community and provide a fun event where families can spend time together. The chair will coordinate the event as well as find volunteers to help during the event. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/dance/
  • Garden Club – Help rebuild and maintain our garden. Work with the teachers and students to sow, plant, and grow a garden to be proud of.
  • Hospitality -​ A team of parents who in charge of special events, that cater to the Guadalupe Staff, namely Teacher Appreciation Lunch and Welcome Back to School Lunch.
  • Ice Cream Social – At the beginning of the school year, to celebrate a new year, encouraging students and their families to build community. Volunteers will organize and run this fun event. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/ice-cream-social/
  • Lost & Found – The role of this individual is to help ensure that parents are retrieving lost items before they go to donation. Your task would be to write up a quarterly blurb and emailing it to our Communications Chair to ask parents to retrieve their lost items from the bin. Items that still remain after each quarterly, the Chair will contact a local donation service and work to have all items picked up and donated. Your role is helpful so that the items aren’t just piling up at the school and most importantly, are donated to support those in need.
  • Olympic Day – Help bring the spirit of the Olympic Games to Guadalupe! Starting with opening ceremonies, Olympic Day continues with students participating in friendly sporting events. The volunteer will coordinate the set up of games, verifying instructions, organize stations, and soliciting volunteers to run stations.
  • Project Cornerstone​​ – Volunteers read to students six times throughout the year stories that facilitate positive self-esteem, problem-solving techniques, and acceptance of differences.   • Room Parent​​ – Each class has at least one Room Parent, sometimes a team of two or four. Room Parents help organize special celebrations in the classroom, volunteer for in-class activities like Art Vistas, Ceramics, student centers (lower grades), and other activities.   • Room Parent Coordinator – This volunteer acts as a liaison between GHSC and room parents. ​​Help support room parents to perform their commitments throughout the year.
  • Spirit Store ​​- Responsible for maintaining an online store and available advertising merchandise through school publications. No inventory will be kept so that all orders will be filled directly online. Read more about it HERE: ​https://apparelnow.com/guadalupe-elementary-school-apparel
  • Spring Carnival ​​- A fun community event in the spring full of games, food, and fun activities. Committee members will help plan and coordinate the vendors and recruit and manage volunteers for the event. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/carnival/
  • Teacher Time and Talent​​ – Teachers offer their time or talent and are auctioned off at an auction. The chair is responsible for communicating with the teachers and helping to coordinate the auction.   • Walkathon​​ -The biggest fundraiser of the year. Students walk laps to earn money for our school. Volunteers will help coordinate prizes and incentives, create flyers and banners, assist in collecting, mark laps, and create a fun and spirited even to keep kids motivated and excited for the event.   • Winterfest/Bookfest – Fun event of the year celebrating reading and Guadalupe’s community. Teachers will promote reading by reading to the students and facilitate fun activities. The event typically takes place during a holiday book fair. The event also features a soup and dessert buffet, games, and craft activities. Read more about it HERE: https://ghsc.net/winterfest/
  • Yearbook Chair & Volunteers​​- Collect photos and organize a team of volunteers to create yearbook us an online design tool. Work with the yearbook company to put together the yearbook. Read more about it HERE: ​https://ghsc.net/yearbook/
