COMMUNITY at GUADALUPE

Guadalupe strives to build community in dozens of ways. From events and activities to the yearly yearbook and sharing ways to help and guide students. Below is a list of community events that are held yearly. The same events can be found above under the community menu tab.

Community Events

ICE CREAM SOCIALHeld on campus at the beginning of the school year. As the title suggests, students and parents are invited to join us for an evening gathering on campus, meet new and old friends, and let the kids explore the Guadalupe Campus. Please visit the ICE CREAM SOCIAL event page or the GHSC Calendar to determine this year’s event date.

WINTERFEST/BOOKFEST: GHSC hosts the event in December on the Guadalupe Campus. Teachers’ storytime is held in classrooms, and the event features a FREE SOUP KITCHEN for dinner, a dessert bar with Hot Cocoa, games, crafts, and the Holiday Book Fair.

VARIETY SHOW: The Guadalupe Annual Variety Show takes the stage in February and showcases the many talents of our students. This event is free and open to the whole school, and all grades are welcome to perform (Kinder through 5th Grade.)

BOOK FAIR: The Guadalupe Book Fair is held during the first week of December. This three-day book sale is open to students and their families in the Guadalupe library.

BOOKFEST: For November, Guadalupe’s Bookfest is a reading competition for the whole school and our community. Each year we strive to break the previous year’s total book record.

SPRING CARNIVAL & ART VISTAS SHOW: The first Friday of May is Carnival Day at Guadalupe. This GHSC-hosted event is open to the community to thank everyone and bring everyone together to showcase students’ artwork, great food, and bouncy fun.

Community Items

MILEAGE CLUB: Guadalupe’s Mileage Club is a student morning workout program held every school day morning. Students keep track of all the laps they do and receive prizes for hitting new achievements.

YEARBOOK: Each year, a team of parent volunteers gathers parents’ photos to build a yearbook celebrating the student’s year. Yearbooks can be purchased on the GHSC TOOLKIT. Parents can share their photos on their student’s SHUTTERFLY GRADE SITE. If you are interested in helping with the yearbook design process, please email [email protected]

5TH GRADE YEARBOOK ADS: 5th Grade Parents can celebrate their student’s years at Guadalupe by purchasing a personal ad in the Guadalupe Yearbook. Head over to the 5th Grade Ad page for pricing and examples of ads.

SCHOOL KITS: During the late spring of each year, Guadalupe partners with SchoolKidz.com to offer School Kits for the upcoming school year. School kits are a box of classroom materials (pens, notebooks, and much more) that the teachers for each Grade curate. For more information on ordering your kits, head to the SchoolKits page
